When dancers wear appropriate attire, they can focus better, move more freely, and allow instructors to provide clearer corrections. A clean, unified appearance in class supports learning, builds camaraderie, and prepares dancers for the professionalism expected in rehearsals and performances.

All required dancewear and shoes for Celestial Stars must be purchased at Well-Heeled, our official local dancewear partner, and where we have our own Celestial Stars section! We’ve worked closely with the owner and Eurotard to curate our studio’s dress code — from leotards to tights and shoes — and made it easy for you to find exactly what you need. When you arrive, let them know your studio and level. Sizing samples are available to try on in-store, and Well-Heeled can assist with ordering and provide updates on whether items will ship directly to you or be available for in-store pickup. You will also receive a 15% loyalty studio discount in-store only on shoes and tights.

All Students
- Dance bag with extra leotard, tights, shoes, hair items, and sewing kit.
- Clean, fitted dancewear; no rips or holes.
- No bras or underwear (flesh colored dancewear under leotard accepted).
- Properly fitted shoes only—do not size up "to grow into."
- No jewelry, streetwear, or walking outside in dance shoes.
- Always cover-up when not in the dance studio.
- Ballet: Hair in a secure bun.
- Other classes: Hair neatly pulled up and away from the face in a secure up-style, braid, or pony-tail.
- Creative Movement – pink footless
- Pre-Ballet – pink convertible
- Ballet I-Teen – pink mesh convertible with back seam
- Tap - same as above
- Jazz, Lyrical & Contemporary – Black footless tights
- Each level has a specified color
- Skirts in level color can be worn for tap; Ballet per instructor discretion
- Ballet levels III-V need grey hip alignment belts
- Creative Movement – NO SHOES
- Ballet – pink split-sole canvas, levels III-V need stretch pointe shoe ribbon
- Jazz – Tan Bloch leather with canvas arch
- Tap levels Pre-I – Black Mary Jane style
- Tap levels II-V – Black oxford style
- Professionally fitted shoes with elastic and ribbons.
- ‘Dead’ shoes are no longer acceptable to dance in as the support is stripped which could cause injury.
- New shoes must be provided to prevent students progress from being stemmed.
- White or black t-shirt tucked in
- Black tights, dance pants, or dance shorts
- Black Ballet shoes, black socks
- Black oxford style tap shoes
- Black jazz shoe in leather with canvas arch
- Dance belt for 10+
- Required dancewear will be announced in advance.
- Students not dressed properly may be asked to observe.
- Repeated violations will be addressed with the family.
