Creative Movement A & B | Ages 3 -5
Creative Movement (Ages 3–5) Our Creative Movement classes are a joyful introduction to the world of dance for our youngest stars! Designed for ages 3–5, these classes nurture imagination, coordination, and musicality in a playful and encouraging environment. We blend basic Ballet and dance fundamentals with creative exploration, storytelling, and rhythm games to help children develop body awareness, balance, and listening skills. Each class is thoughtfully structured to support early motor development while fostering a love for movement and music. At Celestial Stars, we believe in building confidence from the very beginning. Through age-appropriate exercises, imaginative themes, and gentle guidance, our youngest dancers learn classroom structure, self-expression, and the foundations that prepare them for more formal dance training in later levels—all while having fun!
Ballet | Ages 5 to Adult
Ballet (Vaganova Technique) At Celestial Stars, Ballet is the heart of our training. We follow the beautiful and rigorous Vaganova (Russian) technique, known for its emphasis on clean lines, strength, and artistry. Our structured levels guide students through an intentional progression, with dancers typically spending 2–3 years in each level to fully master the technique and develop the maturity needed to advance. Our Ballet classes are not just about learning steps—they’re about building disciplined, expressive artists with a deep understanding of movement. We focus on musicality, alignment, and grace, ensuring each student grows with confidence and poise. Pointe work is introduced gradually between ages 10–12, when the dancer has developed the strength, alignment, and control necessary to begin safely. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of three Ballet classes per week to be considered for pointe, as proper preparation is essential for both safety and success.

Lyrical | Ages 6 to 18
Lyrical Lyrical dance blends the grace of Ballet with the emotional expression of Jazz and Contemporary movement. At Celestial Stars, we use Lyrical as a bridge between foundational technique and storytelling through dance. It’s often the first expressive style our dancers experience beyond the structure of Ballet. In our Lyrical classes, students learn to connect movement to music, exploring emotion, intention, and flow while building on their Ballet vocabulary. We emphasize fluidity, breath, and musical interpretation, helping dancers develop their unique voice and artistic presence. Younger dancers begin with Lyrical as their introduction to expressive movement. As they grow in strength and maturity, students in Level IV and above will transition to Contemporary, where improvisation and modern technique become more central to their training.
Contemporary | Ages 12 to adult
ContemporaryContemporary is where artistry and innovation take center stage. Drawing from modern, Ballet, and improvisational techniques, Contemporary at Celestial Stars encourages dancers to explore movement from the inside out. It’s a deeply expressive and often abstract form that challenges students to think beyond traditional shapes and steps. Our Contemporary classes build on the emotional depth introduced in Lyrical, while incorporating more grounded movement, dynamic shifts of weight, and complex floorwork. Dancers learn to take risks, make creative choices, and explore improvisation in a safe, supportive environment. We emphasize body awareness, fluid transitions, and connection to music and space. Contemporary is introduced at Level IV, once dancers have a solid technical foundation and the maturity to explore movement with intention and depth.

Tap | Ages 5 to 18
Tap Tap is where rhythm comes to life under your feet! At Celestial Stars, our Tap program combines musicality, coordination, and precision with a sense of joy and play. Students learn to create sound as part of the music—becoming both dancer and percussionist. We focus on clarity of sound, timing, and proper technique, beginning with foundational steps and gradually layering in complexity, syncopation, and speed. As students progress, they develop not only strong footwork but also an appreciation for rhythm, phrasing, and improvisation. Our approach blends traditional tap styles with more modern influences, always emphasizing musical understanding and performance quality. Whether dancing to Broadway classics or upbeat contemporary tracks, our tap dancers build confidence, stage presence, and a strong sense of timing that benefits every genre they study.
Jazz | Ages 6 to 18
Jazz Jazz is bold, energetic, and full of personality—and at Celestial Stars, our Jazz classes bring that energy to life with strong technique and dynamic style. Rooted in Ballet fundamentals, Jazz combines sharp lines, rhythmic accents, and expressive movement, offering dancers a vibrant and athletic outlet. Our Jazz curriculum emphasizes clean technique, proper alignment, and coordination while also encouraging performance quality and style. From classical Jazz to more contemporary trends, students explore a wide range of movement vocabulary through isolations, turns, jumps, and stylized choreography. As dancers progress, they gain strength, stamina, and versatility—skills that carry into every area of their training. We foster confidence, musicality, and expression, helping each dancer shine with both precision and flair.
Stretch and Conditioning | Ages 9 to Adult
Stretch & Conditioning Strength and flexibility are essential building blocks for every dancer, and our Stretch & Conditioning classes are designed to support both. These classes focus on developing the physical tools dancers need to move with control, power, and grace—while helping prevent injury and promote longevity in their training. In Stretch, we emphasize safe and effective techniques to improve flexibility, range of motion, and alignment. Dancers learn how to lengthen muscles without strain, increase joint mobility, and develop the body awareness needed to support technical growth. Our Conditioning portion builds functional strength through targeted exercises that improve core stability, balance, endurance, and overall muscular control. Using bodyweight movements, props, and cross-training techniques, we help dancers strengthen the muscles they rely on most. Together, these classes create a strong foundation for all dance styles and empower dancers to push their artistry to the next level with confidence and resilience.
Boys Class | Ages 5 to 10
Boys Dance Class Our Boys Dance Class is designed to inspire confidence, strength, and creativity in a fun, energetic setting tailored specifically for young male dancers. This class introduces the foundational elements of dance—coordination, rhythm, flexibility, and strength—while encouraging athleticism, focus, and self-expression. Students explore movement through a combination of Ballet basics, Jazz, and creative exercises that build physical awareness and discipline. We create a supportive environment where boys can challenge themselves physically, grow artistically, and feel proud of their progress. Whether your dancer is brand new to movement or already active in other sports, this class helps build agility, musicality, and confidence that benefit all areas of life—on and off the stage.
